Laser Cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut materials, and is typically used for industrial manufacturing applications. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high-power laser, by computer, at the material to be cut. The material then either melts, burns, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of gas,leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish. Industrial laser cutters are used to cut flat-sheet material as well as structural and piping materials. We have two CNC Precision Laser Cutting Tables. We have a new Mazak Optiplex 3015 4000 Watts Capable of cutting up to one inch steel, with a 5x10 foot bed. Our other machine is a Mazak X 510 2500 Watts with a 5x10 foot bed as well.
Plasma Cutting is a process that is used to cut steel and other metals of different thicknesses using a plasma torch. In this process, an inert gas (in some units, compressed air) is blown at high speed out of a nozzle; at the same time an electrical arc is formed through that gas from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning some of that gas to plasma.The plasma is sufficiently hot to melt the metal being cut and moves sufficiently fast to blow molten metal away from the cut.Red Oak Fabrication has two CNC Hydefinition Plasma Cutting Tables. We have a Hyperthem HPR 400 Amp. and a Hypertherm HPR 260 Amp. both with 8x 20 foot beds.
A Press Brake, also known as a Brake Press, is a machine tool for bending sheet and plate material, most commonly sheet metal . It forms predetermined bends by clamping the workpiece between a matching punch and die.
Typically, two C-frames form the sides of the press brake, connected to a table at the bottom and on a moveable beam at the top. The bottom tool is mounted on the table with the top tool mounted on the upper beam. We have two 12 foot 250 Ton Press Brakes and a 16 foot 350 Ton Press Brake.
We use top of the line software for our drafting. We use AutoCAD and Solidworks. AutoCad and Solidworks is a software application for 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting. All of the parts cut on our plasma and laser tables go off of a form of a computer drafted drawing.
